### Check for dead links without using code
unlike most music websites and other highly curated selections, my repo does not actively check for dead/off_air links due to the large amount of stations (more than 1 million unique stream links) and this being a one man project, i do have a folder that is `+checked+` but even then it's checked on that date i've pushed the update using american ips (github's) so things my not work on you region, so lets explain how you can check links for yourself without needing to know any coding
the first thing you need is the excellent [cat-catch](https://github.com/xifangczy/cat-catch) browser extension, install it for [chrome (and it's derivative)](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/jfedfbgedapdagkghmgibemcoggfppbb), [firefox](https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/cat-catch/) and [edge](https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/oohmdefbjalncfplafanlagojlakmjci) and open one of the many pages i've created via webamp to listen to music online, make sure to pin the cat-catch extension to your toolbar for easier operations
here i've used the 'Trance' page of the 'listen_to_icecast' repo, open it and wait things to load, as you can see the cat in the toolbar has a number above it, these are the streams that are loaded to this point and are listenable in my region
![1](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/junguler/m3u-radio-music-playlists/main/stuff/cat_catch1.jpg)
click on the cat icon to open the extension's menu

now click on `Select All` then `Copy` and paste it to a txt editor, save it as a `.m3u` file and it's ready to be listend to, now every link works
note: this method does not give you the stream title (tho most streams broadcast their names pretty reguraly) and you have to wait for links to load so keep that in mind
